CYSA D2 Rec Playthrough League

This website is used to manage the CYSA District 2 playthrough league. Currently only a small part is working, more will be brought online as we get closer to the 2009 Fall season.

If you are a U12, U14, U16 or U19 representative for your league please send an email to soccer@fleiner.com so you can be added to the list of league representatives, at which point you will be able to add your leages team to the site starting in July, and you will be added to the mailing list for league representatives.

Who can participate

The District 2 play-through league is open to any U12 to U19 CYSA rec team from any of the leagues within District 2. There is no fee for teams to participate in the regular season, though there might be additional fees for an optional Jamboree at the end of the season. A U19 bracket will also exist assuming that we get enough teams in that age group.

Cost

There is no fee for teams playing within this league. Teams will play about 5 home games, and the home leagues are expected to schedule fields and 3 referees for home games. The leagues will not be reimbursed for the referees or fields.

League participation

If your league is interest in participating with the District 2 play-through league please send an email with the contact information of the recreational representatives to soccer@fleiner.com, so that they can be added to the mailing list. For planning purpose it would be great if you could add the number of teams you expect this year

Brackets

Depending on the number of teams in each age group one or more brackets will be created. Each bracket should have at least 6 teams. If there is enough interest there is the possibility to reseed the brackets after 4 weeks to even out the games. The disadvantage however is that all leagues will have scheduled their games by then, most likely only early morning and late afternoon games will be available, and parents will not be able to schedule their weekends in advance. We will conduct a survey among the teams before the season starts to decide if reseeding will be done.

Time Line

  • As quickly as possible:
Leagues sign up for the play-through league by designating one or more league representatives that will be the point of contact for each league and age group
  • August 24:
deadline for teams sign-up. Teams signing up later may not be able to play 10 games in the season
  • August 28:
Finalized groups, schedule for first three weeks posted on website
  • September 12:
first game, one game every Saturday until
  • November 14:
    last game
  • Jamboree / District cup:
at the end of the season, probably Nov 7/8 or Nov 14/15. Due to the late labour day weekend the season has only 10 weekends, so teams participating in the Jamboree will only have 9 games to play during the season.

A new domain name will be acquired shortly, at which point the website will move away from a sub-domain of SSJYSL (starting it that way was just a very easy first step).
